View All Critic Reviews Oct 28, While not a fan of the typically over-the-top type of comedy that is Farrell and so I avoided this work for many years , I literally was bashed into complacency by the first half hour of this actually decent commentary on televised news in the United States.

There's a line about not touching the face or hair of the newscasters that's spot on and and indicative of the ego driven shenannigans that ensue. It's better than I thought it would be. Kevin M. Sep 19, So much better than I expected, Yes the film got lots of praise from critics and viewers but there was just something about it that kept putting me off and the fact that I've never been the biggest Will Ferrell fan didn't help either, But I got round to watching it and I loved it Most of the time Some of the jokes came across too silly or cheesy and didn't work at all but there's was some pretty fresh unpredictable humour too that worked so well, The main reason this was so good was the cast, They were all terrific especially Paul Rudd and Steve Carell who were brilliantly funny, There's allot of cameos too that were fitted in nicely, No real main plot to talk about but it didn't need one as the humour and cast were more than enough to make this a good movie.

Jamie C Super Reviewer. Jun 21, Silly, but funny. This is a hilarious "period comedy" set in the late s. The fashion is spot on and the writing by Ferrell and McKay is great. So many quotable lines and remembered characters in this film. One of the more enjoyable sequences was the street fight between the rival news teams which was chock full of cameo appearances. Patrick W Super Reviewer. May 27, A hilarious newsroom comedy.

The characters played by Will Ferrell and Steve Carell are especially awesome. The plot may be a little thin, but the jokes make up for this. The funniest comedy i have seen in a long time.

It wasn't as funny as the first one, but it had some good laughs. Anchorman is my favorite movie. An OK movie with some more laughs from the news crew.

But seriously, how much did they film? If i only thought Anchorman was OK, id give it a 6. If you want more of the news crew, definitely see it, you'll love it.

JohnZoidberg 2 November The kind of bad that makes you wish you could get that time back in your life, the kind of bad that makes you think "what on Earth were they thinking to film this in the first place", the kind of bad that makes you wish you'd taken 50 more minutes when stepping into the kitchen to grab a snack during the film, the kind of bad that makes leprosy look fun, the kind of bad that makes you think you wish you rented a Pauly Shore film instead Having said that Sure, they tried to make it entertaining and fun, but the entire subplot that was left out of Anchorman that made it here was genuinely left out for a good reason I'm alright now.

As the narrator advised on the beginning, some movies should never have been made and released and this movie is one of them. I didn't believe and watched it through, which was a mistake. If producer's intention was to make an oppositely worse movie of the first Anchorman, they have succeeded completely and deserve a full 9 stars for making one of the most boring and uninteresting movies ever.

Skip it and watch Anchorman 2 instead. I just saw this the other day and felt compelled to write a review! This movie is most certainly not one to watch if you haven't already seen Anchorman:The legend of Ron Burgundy, but if you have, and you loved it I do! The story comprises of a sub plot intended for Anchorman that was dropped presumeably because it wasn't that good involving a terrorist organisation called "The Alarm Clock" hence the Wake up Ron Burgundy!

The Alarm Clock are easily the worst terrorist group in the world having no political agenda, and not really knowing what they are doing, end up kidnapping Veronica Corningstone to use her to broadcast their as yet undecided political statement.

So it's up to the rest of the intrepid news team to save her. There are some truly hilarious bits in this film, one where Champ Kind is professing his undying love for Ron in the car but everyone pretends they can't hear him is very funny, and another where we learn that the seemingly stupid Brick Tamlind was in fact the leader of a group of soldiers in the Vietnam war with the other news team members is very funny.

All in all, it's one for the fan boys, not for the people who didn't like Anchorman, and it's only a bit of a laugh anyway, it was never a theatrical release. While the movie lacks direction since it was put together on such short notice the channel4 news crew is as funny as ever, and we can ask ourselves why some of these outtakes didn't make the first cut. For example the scene where the crew is stuck on the mountain and almost resorts to cannibalism is hilarious, and Brick remains the same street smart guy in a world he never made.

Although we miss guest star appearances from "frat pack" members, Ron Burgundy is as proud, macho and funny as ever. At some points though, the cuts seem really fake: they show scenes from the first movie with added narration to cover the new subplot, which, by the way is awesome because it gives up the "rip the lid" sequence, which is probably the funniest in the movie.

This film is a must see for anyone who wet his pants watching "Anchorman". SublimeCDS 6 January This film is definitely worth checking out if you were a fan of the theatrical film "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.

In many ways, this second ending makes more sense from a writing standpoint, as many things that are introduced early on in the script that are funny on their own, don't get me wrong come back in the dramatic conclusion.

The only flaw in this feature is that it tries to pass itself off a sequel, instead of cut footage, and it doesn't quite work. Then again, if you can suspend your disbelief -- that concept becomes pretty funny, as well. Justin Long Dodgeball even makes an appearance. Great stuff Enjoy folks! I don't understand how you could bash this movie.

Ithas its moments where you can't help but laugh at the stupidity. Slapstick humor at its best. It even comes with Ron's leather bound diary. This movie has generated many new lines that my friends and I habitually throw out in everyday life at each other. Don't act like you're not impressed.

The only problem with this is the movie is sold together as a package, raising the price. I wish they would sell it separately. Worth seeing, if you liked the original itoaster99 1 January Even though there is new narration explaining how it is a sequel, it is very clear to anyone watching that many of the scenes are alternate versions of scenes in the original film.

This movie is not as funny as the original, and moves a bit slower, but all together it is worth seeing if you liked the original. Pretty Good, But similar Skellington64 29 December When I picked this up I was looking for a brand new Anchorman adventure but I found a new version of the Original.

It follows the same basic storyline Ron and Veronica fall in love, Brian, Brick, and Champ are all jealous. But with the addition of Alarm Clock, A group trying to bring the truth to San Diego, and a few never before seen parts , Like when Ron and Veronica jump on the table and Ron screams "Lets make a Baby! Since it comes packed with the Unrated Anchorman, Its a pretty good buy. BanyardGuy99 29 December First off, this is a very funny sequel.

Even though it isn't technically a sequel, actually it is some cut footage from the original version of "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy". I have to admit, this is somewhat superior in parts to the original. There are even some parts of the film that make me wonder why they were cut out in the first place. This is truly a work of Monty Python-esquire satire.

It's a wonder why the director and studio felt the need to change the plot from this to the panda sub-plot. Deleted Scenes with a coherent story make for an awkward but somewhat funny movie mrderp 29 December Before seeing this movie, it is a good idea to see Anchorman.

At that point, if you have not laughed yourself into a comatose state, then it would be a good time to see this film. From the first few moments watching this, you can see why the footage in this movie was trimmed from Anchorman. Not as funny as that film, the line delivery lacks the 70s-induced obliviousness of the original.

What you do see is the main characters of the two movies get deeper into their characterizations, taking them in a slightly different direction from the first film. Some of the scenes in this movie feel out of place with the narration, an element of the film I personally could have done without.

This review sounds negative, but what I am listing here are only small gripes with an otherwise acceptable film. Without the first, Wake Up Ron Burgundy feels kind of strange. How dare you make such a movie? I saw this movie out of my love of the "Classic" Anchorman. But it was disappointing. I have seen worse but no wonder why all these scenes and the plot not forgetting to mention was not a part of the EPIC Anchorman.

If Anchorman made you laugh this doesn't even get in the class of "All About Steve". The editing, dialogue, and the one thing that would make it even worse the absolutely ridiculous plot.
